Hey everyone! Sounds like a lot of you had a great week. Ours had its ups and downs but ended in a beautiful baptismal service. We thought we were going to get three in the water, but through some heavy and I mean heavy, just like Mike Brady from the Brady Bunch used to say, these attacks were just HEAVY by satan, we 2 of the dates fell through. Thats alright though, because one made it all the way. Heres what happened:
Araceli, Gina´s mom had to go through a ton to get to her baptism. I already mentioned how the scriptures helped her recieve the answer that she needed to get baptized, then she started her progress. We realized that for some things in the past, she would have to have an interview by President Clark. I figured, "That shouldnt be too hard, in a couple weeks hes gonna be here for Zone Conference, so we can just do the interview there." So we called President Clark, and he told us that he was swamped with interviews, he just didnt have the time to do it. So, he gave us a day. Monday before interviews, a month. And to make things harder, Araceli would have to go all the way to the city of Zacatecas. About an hour, and hour 20 minutes. But she very humbly agreed to do it, saying that this is how the Lord wanted things to happen. So we prepared her, and we prepared her well. We taught her everything she had to know, and watched every church movie along the way. She was progressing just great. This monday, the three of us went to Zacatecas for the interview. Araceli had a great experience with President Clark, which I think helped her strengthen her testimony. She came out excited and ready for her baptism. 2 days later, without letting anyone know that he was coming, Araceli´s "partner/boyfriend" shows up. I thought, "This is heavy", and I told Gina that she just had to watch out for her mom. We had an appointment, but Araceli cancelled it. I was really nervous that whole night as to what was going to happen. But, Araceli repelled the attack, she talked to him and taught him the law of chastity. He slept in a different room. The next day was the same, and then he left. I said, "Thats it. Great job, Sister. You beat satan." and then he attacked again. Some cousins that they hadnt seen for 2 years decide to show up! This daughter of god and her husband were two of the rudest, most vulgar people i have ever seen. And they wanted Araceli to go and be with them for a bit. She couldnt say no, but I had Gina warn her that this was satan´s attempt to get her to drink. I had another sleepless night, but everything turned out well in the end. After that, Satan tried his last move. And it was a good one, it had us scared for a while. On saturday night, I went to the chapel and checked, and sure enough, there wasnt any water. So we made some calls and decided that we would have to go out to Arboledas, the furthest chapel. It was the only one that had water. With some prayers and fasting. The Lord gave us a miracle, and at 11:15, the water came back to our chapel. It was just enough time to fill the font, with lukewarm water. Everything else went smoothe from there. It was a great service, with a great spirit. After the baptism, Sister Araceli shared her testimony and it was powerful. This family is gonna be a very powerful family in the church. Ill send a picture of the baptism. So I think everyones thinking right now, "Wow, that was heavy!" because it was! It really was! Oh yeah, and I got to get wet, for the first time in like six months, so that was just great.
Changes are today, but they told us that they are gonna be tomorrow, so everyones really nervous to see if they have changes, or transfers or whatever the word is in english.
This week will be a new week to start looking for new investigators and to help the ones we have progress. We are going to help them feel what they need to feel to start progressing. 4 months to go. Wow. Im old now. I hope you have a great week. I love you all!
